This project was guided by the idea that the private and the public are inseparable and complementary to each other. We sought to enrich both areas instead of isolating them.
The house interacts with the front square, extending it, and the square extends the house’s apparent space. The neighbors’ walls on the sidewalk are interrupted by this new space and their side and back walls create an atrium in the back garden, also extending the house while keeping the scale and privacy.
The simple shape allowed the house to be very rich spatially, with contrasting masses and free spaces.
